BREATHING SPACE SINGING NEWSLETTER (2)
NOVEMBER 2020

Welcome to our BSS newsletter.  We hope to be able to issue these a few times each year to keep you informed of activities taking place and other information you might find useful, so please let us know of anything you think we could include to keep our BSS community thriving.  We are here to help you make BSS a group you enjoy.
As we cannot meet at the moment, or for the foreseeable future, we thought this was a good way to keep in touch with you all in these very strange times.
We hope you are keeping well and safe and managing to have contact with people.  If you would like a chat at any time, please don’t hesitate to contact Chris, Hilary or Liz (details at the end of this newsletter).
Sessions:
Since April 10 some of us have been enjoying BSS via Zoom on our computers.  Not quite the same as being together but a way of keeping in touch, seeing each other, doing some breathing exercises and having a sing – all very good for us.  Sophie is still teaching us new songs and has pre-recorded some of the songs so we can sing along with the harmony.  Her son, Sid, joins us most weeks to play along with his guitar for some of the songs. Luckily we have enough finance to still pay Sophie so intend to continue these sessions for the foreseeable future.
Zoom is very easy to download and access so if any of you would like to join us on a Friday 4.30-5.30 pm  we would love to see you.
The Future:
Even though Townshend Village Hall will be opening again we do not feel comfortable with resuming BSS at the moment as we are all ‘at risk’ and the hall will be used by other groups.
Hopefully, we will be able to commence our usual sessions at the usual time sometime in 2021.
Website:
Hilary has very bravely taken on the task of updating our Website so take a look.  We hope to add some more photos soon.
Lockdown Activities:
If any of you have been busy with a new hobby or working on an existing one, written any stories, poems, or created any art we would be delighted to hear all about it and could include it in our next newsletter, so please get in touch.

Some Sad News:
Very sadly Hilary’s lovely dad, Gordon, died recently.  He had moved into a wonderful nursing home very close to the family and so they were able to see him regularly. He was 96 and really enjoyed the times he was able to join us at BSS and we loved seeing his smiling face.  He wanted 50% of donations at his funeral to go towards BSS – so thank you Gordon.
